The number twenty two (22) is a number that has scores of significance.  It is a palindrome number meaning it is the same coming and going (think of the word radar that is spelled the same forward and backward).  Twenty two divided by seven is Pi (3.142857142) which is regarded as one of the most important numbers in all of geometry.  The number twenty two is double 11 (which symbolizes disorder and chaos) and is therefore representative of double disorganization and quantum chaos. The Titanic was traveling at a speed of twenty two knots before it crashed into the iceberg. The atomic number of titanium is twenty two.  There are twenty two letters in the Hebrew aleph-bet (alphabet).  In American football, there are twenty two players on the field at any one time.  Twenty-two is considered a significant “master builder” number in numerology. Catch-22 (Joseph Heller’s 1961 novel) gave rise to the expression “catch-22” which means a dilemma or quandary.  A traditional Tarot deck has twenty two cards.

There are many more examples of the number twenty two and its significance in cultures throughout the world.  Having said all of that the twenty two that I want to discuss today is the twenty second amendment which states: No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President, when this Article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

In the discussion of Donald J. Trump this is even more germane when you consider that according to the Angel Number the number twenty two is considered as one of the most powerful numbers, able to turn all dreams and desires into reality. The number twenty two is a number of precision and balance. In its full capacity, this number is the master builder, which means that it provides the power to achieve almost impossible things.

Many have speculated that if Trump losses the election in 2020, that he is not going to leave the White House.  The speculation continues that Trump is going to claim irregularities in the 2020 election so much so that he is going to have a realistic reason to deny the election results and remain in the White House for another four years.  This is an unrealistic scenario which most Americans would never accept under any circumstances.  The resistance would be so great from the American people who do not support Trump, along with any fair minded patriots of the government in the Executive branch that Trump simply remaining in the White House, if he overwhelmingly loses, would not be tolerated.

Given the outcome of Trump’s impeachment, along with the support from Republicans in the House and Senate, his cabinet, and the DOJ (Bill Barr), I believe that that the foundation for a much more insidious plan is being laid.  It begins with the following rules in the constitution: (1) Both houses propose an amendment with a two-thirds vote, and three-fourths of the state legislatures approve. Twenty-six of the twenty seven amendments were approved in this manner. (2) Both houses propose an amendment with a two-thirds vote, and three-fourths of the states approve the amendment via ratifying conventions. Only the 21st Amendment, which repealed Prohibition, was passed in this manner. (3) Two-thirds of the state legislatures call on Congress to hold a constitutional convention, and three-fourths of the state legislatures approve the amendment. (4) Two-thirds of the state legislatures call on Congress to hold a constitutional convention, and three-fourths of the states approve the amendment via ratifying conventions.

The four rules outlined in the paragraph above are the steps that need to be taken to amend the Constitution.  Now what I am about to outline is a thought experiment that on its surface sounds preposterous, but given what has just taken place in the Senate with regards to the vindication of Trump’s impeachment, I believe that it is incumbent on us to push the limits of our imagination.

I submit that Trump is not going to pursue the route of remaining in the White House illegally.  Rather I believe that he is going to attempt to remain in the White House legally and indefinitely.  And given that he has been given the green light to bribe, blackmail, and coerce foreign governments to assist him in his re-election, there is nothing to stand in his way with his attempt.

His ultimate goal is to repeal the twenty second amendment so that there is not a two term limit on his presidency.  You need only look at his tweets where he “jokingly” states that he will remain in office beyond two terms in June of 2019 as reported by the  Washington Post.

But how can Trump remain in office beyond two terms?  The first thing that he has to do is overturn the twenty second amendment.  According to the Constitution any amendment can be added when two-thirds of the state legislatures call on Congress to hold a constitutional convention, and three-fourths of the state legislatures approve the amendment.

Before Trump can do this he needs two-thirds of the states (34 states) to vote in the affirmative for a Constitutional convention.  Once this happens Trump needs three-fourths (38 states) to ratify the amendment.  On the surface one might believe that we are not in danger of this occurring.  Democrats are now in control of Virginia after all, and the political tides are turning.  Progressive voters are engaged and are not going to allow Republicans to continue to subvert the will of the majority of voters.  In January 2019 republicans controlled 32 states houses in the United States, but their loss of Virginia later in the year takes that down to 31.

All of this happened before the impeachment trial of Donald Trump during which Alan Dershowitz stated that if a politician takes an action that he believes that is in the public interest and in his political interest, then it cannot be an impeachable offense.  And the Republicans in Congress capitulated by saying that although they believed that what Trump did was wrong, it did not rise to the level of an impeachable offense.  So let’s finish our thought experiment and put all of this together.

Step one.  Trump promises whatever he needs to any willing foreign governments to amass a war chest of money, power, and assistance so that he can undermine the vote at the state level, like he is accused of doing in the 2016 election, so that he can get a minimum of 38 state legislatures under Republican control.

Step two.  Once he has 38 states under Republican control, he only needs 34 of those states to call a constitutional convention with the express purpose of overturning the twenty second amendment.

Step three.  Once the amendment is offered by the 34 states, Trump only needs 38 states to vote to ratify the amendment to the Constitution.

Step four.  Now that the twenty second amendment is repealed, and Trump does not have to worry about being held accountable because he has control on the Senate, he can remain in power indefinitely and without any accountability.  Trump can literally, as he said in a speech about his Article Two powers, do whatever he wants.

By the time all of this happens it will be too late to vote.  Voting won’t matter anymore.  Trump and his followers will have fundamentally and forever altered the greatest democracy in history.  I know what you are thinking.  This would never happen.  This is a wild conspiracy theory that Americans would never allow to take place.  Remember that there are twenty seven amendments to the Constitution and one that was repealed (prohibition).  Many once great nations said that same thing before they were taken over by tyrants and demagogues.  I hope that America is not the next country to go down this dark path.

  1. Good piece. And your logic is not off. I concur, it’s possible. In fact, I thought the same thing. What we do know, hell definitely get another 4 years.

    1. Thank you for reading my piece. It’s certainly up to those of us on the Left to determine in Trump wins again in November.
